who am i?

i'm katie...just a bored stay-at-home-mom who has nothing better to do than to blog and facebook. alright, that's not entirely the truth. i'm 25, from utah and mom to a busy 1 year old (yep, she's a veg too) and from time to time i remember it's time to eat...so why not show the world what i eat.
This blog is meant to showcase delicious food. I know- crazy thought- that food might be delicious without an animal counterpart. But I think we just might prove that with these recipes. This blog isn't meant to be a "Healthy-Food" blog, although occasionally I will point out ways to slim a meal down...

A lot of people ask a lot of questions about being a Vegetarian. So, instead of explaining over and over again, I think I will just list some typical questions and answers right here :)

Q- How long have you been a Vegetarian?
A- About 8 years now.

Q- Do you hate food...is that why you don't eat meat?
A- What, dumb no. I love food...with a passion. I just don't love animal cruelty so I choose not to buy & consume animals.

Q- But how do you get your protein?
A- There are so many ways to find protein without consuming animal based products, it's insane. Here's a few: Beans, Brown Rice, Soy Products, Leafy Green Vegetables, Whole Grains...OMG the list goes on and on- google it.

Q- Yeah, but what about Omega's- Aren't they only in Fish?
A- You can get your ALA plant based Omega 3's from Canola Oil, Flaxseed oil and hey, guess what- did you know Walnuts contain Omega 3 too?
